Automatic Medical Billing and Scanning Solution Implementation
CNT InfoTech is currently assisting West Side Radiology with their Automatic
Medical Billing. As part of our responsibility we are providing the following
services:
1. Identify and Implement a scanning solution: This project
required us to implement a scanning solution to scan the medical documents,
our staff came up with a scanning solution to help the hospital to scan
their medical bills and convert that into a digital document. As part of
the process, our staff procured the hardware, software and provided the
training to the staff. Our staff is also providing the scanning service
at this location.
2. Identify and Implement Architecture: Our staff assisted
the client in implementing an architecture that would generate the digital
documents from the scanner and transfer the file to central database from
where the client would access the files. Also our staff assisted in implementing
a remote file transfer process to move the files from the client site to
a remote site where the documents are being processed.
3. Process the medical documents: Our staff is assisting in
processing the medical documents by identify any discrepancy in the document
and automating the payment processing.

Implementation, Maintenance, Support and Customization of an Asset Management
System
CNT Infotech worked with the Puerto Rico Consorcio Caguas-Guayama
in the implementation, maintenance, support and customization of an Asset
Management System. As a first step the CNT Infotech staff visited with the
Department inventory staff the various locations and validated the requirements
and functionality. This enabled us to understand the specific business functions
that occur across the Department for the way inventory is ordered, utilized,
restocked and maintained across the various facilities and locations. In addition
re-order points for the items was understood and how each of the items were
inventoried and stocked. This enabled us to understand the user requests and
ensure that the system functionality was consistent with the user requirements.
As part of the implementation and Maintenance activities CNT provided the
following services:
Implementation
Documentation
Training
Enhancement/System Modification
Testing
On-Site/Off-Site User Support
System Management and database activities
Conversion
Interface Development to the Department's Financial System
This inventory system will radically improve the way the staff perform their
function. It is our understanding and belief that the inventory system will
enable the staff at the facilities to perform a wider set of functions and
allow for greater reporting capability.
Sample functionality of the Inventory Management System includes:
Company information
Product information
Sales information
Purchase information
Inventory adjustment and maintenance
Reporting capability, both user defined and standard reports
Reference Tables
Flexible Reporting capability

Design, Development, Implementation and Maintenance
of a Data Conversion and Reporting Tool
CNT Infotech provided analysis, design, development and implementation
services for the generation of hospital reporting data based on exam and
diagnosis codes information. The reporting data will provide the Hospital
a listing of the most commonly used diagnosis codes to a related grouping
of CPT (Exam) codes. This information could then be loaded to the Electronic
Order Entry System and allow the referring/ordering physicians to select
the exam and corresponding diagnosis code upfront through the system.
The following activities were performed by CNT during this project:
CNT
generates a file from the Hospital Information System that includes patient
information, diagnosis codes, exam, exam date and other related information.
The extracted file is
imported into a relational database for review and analysis.
Once the information
is imported, CNT extracted the fields required for the reports generation
and analysis including diagnosis codes and CPT codes.
Programmatically, CNT
matched the ICD9 (diagnosis) codes with the corresponding CPT codes and
group these codes by alternate procedure to identify the most commonly
(top 25) used diagnosis codes for each CPT code and the most commonly
used (top 25) diagnosis codes per group of CPT codes (Master Codes).
CNT developed a standardize
report in electronic format based on the above extracted information to
include: #, screens, VT Table Name, VT Section, VT Detail Info, Required
and Detailed.
The report was delivered
to the Hospital Designated staff in order for it to be imported in the
Order Entry system.
CNT conducted the above
process once upon initiation of the project and will continue to run this
process every quarter or upon the hospital request in order to maintain
the system files up to date.
